Neerja: Box Office Prediction, Story and Details

The aircraft which was hijacked by 4 armed men on September 5, 1986 carried a total of 400 passengers. The terrorists wanted to direct the plane towards Israel and crash it into a building. Having evacuation protocol implemented by a 3-men crew in the cockpit, the aircraft couldn’t be forcibly flown. Bhanot being the senior cabin crew member took charge. Neerja alerted the cockpit crew who escaped through an overhead hatch from the cockpit.

The terrorists were backed from Libya. In order to find Americans, the terrorist ordered Neerja to collect everyone’s passport. Bhanot saved about 41 American passport that they found. The terrorist had the soul intention to pressurize America by identifying Americans on the plane. But since the passport were hidden, the terrorist couldn’t identify if they were Americans or not.

Bhanot’s helpful and unselfish nature is shown in the movie. After 17 hours of hijacking and gunshots and explosives, she had all the chance to get out of the plane. But she instead let everyone go first helping them be safe and was shot while saving 3 children from being shot. She was internationally recognized for this and was awarded many bravery awards for this.

Box Office Prediction

The movie being a very important biography is bound to become a big hit. But the kind of movie being made is not what a lot of national Indian audience would be fond of. However, the movie can do a lot better financially from its international previews. From commercial point of view, the movie might not do pretty well, but will earn a lot of good reviews which may eventually help it be a commercial success as well.
